David May Motor Services Ivybridge was formed in 1979 by David and Shelagh May. Based at Park Street, Ivybridge, the garage began by carrying out vehicle body and mechanical repairs and, from the outset, the principle of the company was to offer affordable service with customer care the priority. A principle still carried on to this day.
In 1992 it was decided to move to a purpose built site on Ermington Road, Ivybridge, in order to have all operations under one roof, including a display area for up to 20 selected used cars. David May Motor Services is now recommended body repairers for numerous insurance companies as well as a Dupont five star dealership.
To ensure the quality of the service offered by David May Motor Services they have now been accredited with the British Quality Standard ISO 9002 and services now include free courtesy cars and authorised MOTs.
The workshop is managed by Ian Greenhalgh and Paula Stebbing, while the body shop is run by Michael Lavers who has been with the company for over 20 years.
